About the Artist

Alifeontheeastcoast

Over twenty-five years of painting, shaped by European and North American travels and life on the Kennebecasis Riverway. Francine's creative background as a high school home economics teacher evolved into a self-taught artistic practice. Refining her practice alongside mentors Geoff Slater, Nora Gross, Hertzl Kashetzky, Maggie Rose and Cliff Turner. She is an active member of the Saint John Art Center's Carnegie Colours.

Her subjects pull from daily life — early-morning rowers, the greens of Riverside golf course, vibrant florals from her gardens, and coastal life. She works primarily in acrylic, as well as in watercolour and oil, on paper, canvas and murals. Her work hangs at the Saint John Airport, private medical clinics, the Riverside Golf and Country Club, the Saint John Art Center, and annually at the Rothesay Netherwood Art Show and Sale, as well as in private homes across Canada, the US and the UK.

Her passion is capturing memories on canvas. Francine's work is primarily commission-based.
